Kevin Frost : Web Design

Do you need a web site that doesn't suck?

Want something original that looks good, complies with Web Standards, is easy to maintain, and gets you a decent position in the search engines?

Well, you may be in luck.

I've started a little side business of designing and building web sites for individuals and small companies. This is all part of my plan for global internet domination, of course.

Keep in mind that this is not my primary line of work. A quick look at my profile will show you that I normally work on much bigger things.

I'm doing this partly because I want to see more well-made sites out there, partly to test some of my theories about internet strategy, and partly to buy more wine.

I intend to discuss my web philosophy in more detail over at Frostopolis, so for now here's a quick rundown of the rules.

Rules of Engagement

  1. I will only help you if I like your project.
  2. My business and marketing ideas are part of the deal.
  3. I usually do all the design and technical parts myself. If you don't need that, fine; but I will not HTML-ify a bad design for you.
  4. Pure consulting is also available if you just need expert advice.
  5. The initial consultation is free, but you pay for dinner and drinks at the (reasonably-priced) restuarant of my choice.
  6. I charge a reasonable rate for my local market. That's usually Budapest and usually around 25 Euros/hour.
  7. Fixed bids are sometimes an option, but not always.
  8. I will consider in-kind payment from vintners, restauranteurs and publicans.
  9. You have to pay for every deliverable on delivery, or 50% up front if you prefer.
  10. You pay for all the drinks at every business meeting.
  11. I work from where I am, which is usually Budapest and sometimes California. Travel is at your expense.
  12. If the project is mostly about programming, I might not do it. I already have a lot of programming projects going.
  13. No exceptions, unless you wave a large stack of Euros under my nose.

That's about it for the moment. If you want to get in touch to discuss a project, use the contact form.

Thanks.
