Greetings Fellow Hacker!

Frosty here, aka Kevin Frost, aka @biztos. I’m “open to work,” as they say: full-time, the whole enchilada, here in SF. This page is about why you (probably) want to hire me. If you just came here for a CV, have at it: frost-cv-2026-01.pdf

About Me

I solve complex real-world problems with software. I mentor and motivate other people to do the same. I care deeply about the customer and the product, and also about the code itself. I push for things to always be their best possible thing-selves in a world where perfect is often the enemy of shipping.

I do back-end and full-stack engineering. I can make you an app from soup to nuts, or I can nerd out on the high-performance multi-cloud API layer. I’m comfortable using AI coding tools, and with these magic beans I am able to build in most languages and frameworks.

I’m also comfortable with sales support, product management and customer-facing roles. I’m not a suit, but I’ve played one on TV.

On the spectrum from scientist to builder, I land at the far end of builderdom. Make it real, make it work, then make it clever.

Startup Experience

I’ve been running my own dev shop for the past few years, and as part of that I’ve worked on several startups, building:

Plus all the normal high-velocity comms and Iterative Everything. I love the can-do, change-the-world energy of a good startup!

As of this writing, my current active projects are using TypeScript/React, Go, Rust, Python, Postgres, SQLite, Docker, LLM APIs, Cloudflare Workers, Supabase, Vercel, and Fly.io; E&OE.

A long time ago I worked at startups in digital music, social networking and security. I built a microsite for Mobb Deep!

Corporate Experience

Prior to founding my company I was in Email Security, rising to Technical Director at Symantec and then Broadcom.

I led international teams from London to Singapore (but mostly in SF and India) as we tackled the challenges of running, building out, and cloud-ifying a product that was mission-critical not just to us but to our customers as well. We were the antispam layer for Microsoft, among many others.

A few things in my wheelhouse were:

A Note on Tech Stacks

You should hire for talent, not for specific tech experience. This was always true, and now it’s doubly true thanks to AI tools. Talented engineers can do great work in any stack, and the other kind are what you get if you ignore this rule.
